At Micro Contacts, quality is not a department, it's a way of life. We've moved quality control out to the production and assembly stations by training and certifying our operators as operator/inspectors. We rely on Statistical Process Control (SPC) to detect variations from the desired nominal as they occur, and take corrective action to keep variations within tight parameters.
All critical quality parameters are identified during the design process, and all required test methods are in place before production starts. Then, Quality Control auditors selectively monitor operations on each station throughout the life of the program. The monitoring program, as with all other production processes, is never compromised.
At Micro Contacts, product quality assurance begins with the Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) process. This process incorporates the Design and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEA), coupled with a Process Flow Chart, and a Quality Control Plan. These tools help identify and prevent all possible failure modes for tool building and product fabrication.
Micro Contacts' quality system is designed to meet our customer specifications and to the guidelines of QS-9000 and ISO 9000. The quality system is documented in our quality manual, and with quality assurance procedures that demonstrate conformance to individual QS-9000/ISO 9001 system elements.
